DeAndre Lorenzo White began his extraordinary life on December 6, 1992, in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He was the first of two sons born to Mark White and Cheryl Ingram-White, truly a gift from God. He attended Francis Scott Key Elementary School, in District Heights, Gwynn Park Middle School, in Brandywine, Maryland and graduated with the Class of 2010 from Bowie High School, Bowie, Maryland. He participated in and successfully completed The National Leadership Forum on Law in the summer of 2008. He was a student at Prince George’s Community College, Largo, Maryland, pursuing his goal of obtaining his college degree in Criminal Justice, to serve in a career as a United States Federal Agent.
Affectionately known by countless numbers of people simply as “Dre,” his warm buoyant spirit endeared him to so many. At an early age, it had become clear that he would bring constant joy to his family and friends. He was often the center of attention at family gatherings, his mother’s workplace, church, and almost anywhere he could get an audience. Dre would come to be known as “the life party.” He was a caring and compassionate person with a kind demeanor—always respectful and mannerable. DeAndre’s true passion was living his life to the fullest.
After being reared from his birth in The New Macedonia Baptist Church, Washington, DC, he made the choice to acknowledge publicly his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his personal Savior. He was baptized on November 2, 2005 by his pastor, the Reverend Patrick J. Walker.
As the result of a tragic car accident, Dre departed this life on November 3, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was truly an exemplary model for every young Christian. He will surely be missed, but never forgotten by the countless lives he touched in his own unique way. An organ donor by his own decision, Dre continues to bless six others with the gift of life. Through this scholarship fund, Dre will continue to be a blessing to others.
